Galia Moss

Meet Galia Moss, An outstanding and gender roles-breaking woman, was the first Latinx/Hispanic woman to solo sail across the Atlantic Ocean. Moss trained for seven years surrounded by men in the industry, which lowered her confidence in completing this trip. Moss looked up to other women who experienced the journey to reflect on her upcoming adventure. It took Moss 41 days to achieve her goal of sailing from Spain to Mexico. Not only did she accomplish her sail, but she also helped families and gave back to her company by partnering with Televisa, a Hispanic channel. Galia Moss donated to build houses in Mexico every couple miles out of a 9000-mile trip she did. Galia was a unique and inspiring Latina figure for Latinos and young ladies who don’t believe we can accomplish anything.
