Harbor School's fleet of vessels doesn't end with just our Buoy Tender & Navy Launch. We have other boats which need some work, like our Hunter 38's: Pretty Woman & Polaris. These two boats are sail boats. These boats have been out of the water for quite some time and put on stands in a yard in City Island, which is in the Bronx. Upon arrival of the yard, it was somewhat tricky to find our boats, they were placed in the back in a congested space but we were able to access them. Cullen Palicka, Harbor School Grad, and myself inspected both vessels.

The boats looked good for not having life on them for a year. The cabin space down below was dry on both boats. The hull of both can use some work. Pretty woman, the nicer of the two, in my opinion, needs a new coat of bottom paint. Some of the old paint was flaking off. Polaris on the other hand had a small crack in the gel coat as well as some flaky bottom paint. Both these boats need some love to be in ship shape but overall both boats are doing well. I hope to see these boats launched soon & incorporated into the Harbor School Waterfront in some capacity. They would be a great addition to our working fleet of vessels. The incorporation of the Hunter 38's would allow us to go on extended cruises which I happen to love. Also it allows us to have another platform to teach & offer sailing to the students of our school.
